about this project
Nuage is a monumental suspended sculpture measuring 12 metres in length, created for the DIFC Sculpture Park in Dubai. Occupying the central volume of the atrium, the installation introduces a fluid sculptural presence that transforms the architectural space through scale, light and movement.
Conceived as a dialogue between sculpture and architecture, Nuage encourages visitors to experience the space from multiple viewpoints. Suspended overhead, the work changes in appearance as it is approached from different levels and perspectives, establishing a continuous visual relationship with the surrounding environment.
Developed using lightweight contemporary materials and automotive finishing techniques, the sculpture reflects Miguel Rodrigues' ongoing interest in expanding the possibilities of large-scale suspended installations. Rather than functioning as an autonomous object, Nuage becomes part of the architecture itself, contributing to the identity and spatial experience of the building.
Installed in the heart of Dubai's financial district, the work demonstrates how contemporary sculpture can redefine public interiors by creating moments of visual openness, movement and discovery.
